Women's History Month  is a celebration of women's contributions to history, culture, and society, and has been observed annually in March in the United States since 1987.

March is a time to reflect on the courage of women in past generations and to celebrate how their efforts and bravery afforded women the opportunities and freedoms they have today. To commemorate the day/month and stand in solidarity, many people wear the official color of International Women's Day—purple.💜

Let Us Honor a Maryland Woman Who Changed the Course of CPR & AED Training History:

Breanna Sudano, a lacrosse SCA survivor, served as a strong advocate in support of the law - now known as "Breanna's Law" formed since 2015. All high school students in Maryland were required to learn CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and how to use an AED (automated external defibrillator) in order to graduate. This lifesaving state requirement was named in her honor, helping save many lives.

Maryland was the first state to mandate CPR and AED instruction as a requirement for graduation. Many other states then followed suit. The Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) Association notes that 36 states and the District of Columbia now require CPR education for all students before high school graduation.

USA Lacrosse encourages leagues and teams to have an on-site AED for all games and practices; plus sporting facilities. These portable and easy-to-use AED devices deliver potentially life-saving defibrillation therapy quickly and effectively.
